QRChat Framing Post, Transition, May 15, 2011

May 12, 2011 Leave a comment

As Eric (@GnosisArts) and I (@Aldsaur) announced last week, we needed to transition #QRChat to others. It has been a great journey for us, but we do not have the time to manage #QRChat the way it should be done.

Great news! Several mobile enthusiasts have expressed fantastic ideas on how improve the chat and a desire to keep it going. (@seanbell, @milesaustin, @mobile_justin, @houseofbrew, @truemc)

Sean Bell is taking the lead.  He is a firm believer in crowd sourcing, education and leveraging other platforms to support the chat (Linkedin.com for example). Many of you may remember when Sean was a guest on #qrchat, talking about a fascinating interactive game his company built and launched during SXSW in Austin, TX.

This week we will have an open discussion about the future of #QRChat, what topics you want to talk about, what tools will be helpful to continue to grow the resource pool and how you can help!

QRChat Framing Post for May 1, 2011

April 29, 2011 Leave a comment

This week’s chat will feature guest Daniel Gordon (@DanGordon on Twitter). Daniel Gordon, 37, is a fourth generation jeweler and President of Samuel Gordon Jewelers in  Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born in Oklahoma City, and raised there for most of his life.

Daniel is very familiar with the marketing advantages & uses of QR codes in the business world. He currently has a QR Code for our Android & iOS app, http://road.ie/samuelgordon and it is in their print ads such as this http://mashable.com/2010/11/14/social-media-promotion/

Quote from Daniel: “As time marches on, we will incorporate them more into our marketing strategy. I am a firm believer that as the web matures, past social, now mobile, we all have cameras therefore scanner in our pocket and this is the web directing us back to it out in the real world. Integration of tradition and digital is the key to an overall balanced successful marketing plan.”
